This is what happens when you design with pedestrians in mind. granted this is with the idea of a “clean kill” rather than safety.

Some people refer to it as the Malaise Era, but I prefer The Death Race Years.

I think it’s actually Endura plastic, though. Not sure how that will effect its slicing power.

Thanks, hadn’t seen that style before. I’ll admit I’m somewhat surprised that 1970’s American auto engineering could (or could be bothered to) create such a seamless looking grill when the headlights are hidden.

But yeah, now I see (from a Torino):
